LOTS OF SUPPORT FOR DEVELOPMENTS AROUND KEYSTONE PARK, HAMMARSDALE and CATO RIDGE

Category Upper Highway General

A lot of support has been seen in the past few weeks for developments around Keystone Park, Hammarsdale and Cato Ridge.

Premier Sihle Zikalala attended the official launch of the new R1,5 billion Pepkor facility at Keystone Park and gave it a big 'thumbs up'.

He says that "the planned expansion in this economic node offers huge benefits to the local area, creating linkages between road, port, manufacturing and transportation sectors of the economy" (Witness Reporter.newsed@witness.co.za) and that they will assist in alleviating decongestion in the Port.

He also mentioned plans for a Special Economic Zone to support Textile Manufacturing activities in the Hammarsdale area.

In a visit by Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa (Head of the Infrastructure and Investment Department from the Office of the President), hosted by the EThekwini Municipality, he confirmed that Investment in Infrastructure is part of the overall Economic Plan of Government to create employment opportunities across various sectors and surrounding communities. He acknowledged the catalytic projects including Keystone Park in Hammarsdale and the Cato ridge Logistics Hub.

The Environmental Authorisation was also granted for the Proposed New Kwaximba Interchange on the N3 at Cato Ridge.

All of the above reinforce the fact that this area is the best place to locate your logistics and textile facilities.
